The catches are structural. Simulator access runs only 90 days — the clock starts when you begin your first exam or quiz — which is short next to 6–12-month competitors, though paid extensions are available and failing your real exam earns a complimentary 90-day extension. The 30-day money-back guarantee goes void once you start more than one exam or one quiz, the learning platform feels dated with limited analytics, and the top Elite PLUS tier was listed as unavailable as of July 17, 2026.

Brain Sensei teaches the PMP through an interactive feudal-Japan story — genuinely different from slide lectures, and effective for narrative learners. The $349.99 one-year course (a limited-time price from a regular $499.99) includes the 35 contact hours, a simulator advertising 2,200+ questions with unlimited dynamically generated exams plus three static 180-question practice exams, and a real pass guarantee: meet the requirements, fail the exam, and you retake the course free. Its homepage explicitly states a full update for the July 9, 2026 exam.

The format is the filter. A meaningful slice of reviewers find the animated story “too cutesy” for a professional certification course, there is no mobile app, and access caps at 12 months. The monthly route — $49.99 for the first month, then $99 per month after — gets expensive fast if your study plan slips, and the advertised 99.6% pass rate is self-reported and unverifiable. Independent review sites rate it well; its Reddit footprint is small next to the Udemy giants.

“Ramdayal plus a question bank” has been the most repeated passing recipe on r/pmp for years, and his Udemy course — 4.6+ stars from more than 100,000 ratings, 300,000+ students — is already updated for the July 2026 exam and PMBOK 8. It remains the cheapest legitimate path to the 35 contact hours: Udemy pricing floats with near-perpetual sales, so we won’t print a number that changes daily. The $899 live bootcamp (list price $1,899) adds four days of instruction, his book, 14 full-length mock exams, and a simulator.

Know what each tier actually promises. The Udemy course has no serious simulator — nearly every pass story pairs it with Study Hall or another bank, so budget for that. The bootcamp’s “Second-Attempt Protection” pays for your second exam attempt if you sit it within 60 days of the course end date; the full tuition refund triggers only if you fail after two retakes — three failed attempts — within six months. The advertised 99% first-time pass rate is self-reported, and the Udemy tier comes with no direct instructor support.

Study Hall is PMI’s own practice platform, and its reputation rests on one thing no third party can match: question style that candidates repeatedly describe as exactly like the real exam. Essentials carries 700+ questions with two full-length exams; Plus roughly 1,000+ with five full-length exams and about twenty mini-exams. Recent 2026 reviews list the tiers at $49 and $99 as one-time purchases — but pmi.org blocks automated checks, older SKUs billed as auto-renewing quarterly subscriptions, and sources conflict, so verify the billing model at checkout.

Two things keep the official product at mid-table. First, 2026 alignment is unsettled: PMI released new 2026-aligned official prep on April 14, 2026, but sources conflict on whether the existing Study Hall tiers themselves have been rebuilt for the July 9 exam. Second, the experience: explanations are frequently criticized as too brief, and reviewers report typos, occasional wrong answer keys, and app bugs — including a broken 10-minute break timer in mocks — while PMI’s customer support is widely panned. There is no guarantee and no teaching content.

David McLachlan is the other r/pmp favorite, and his “watch me answer 200 questions” method is unique in this market: hundreds of free question walkthroughs on YouTube that many candidates use as their entire final review. The Udemy course — the highest-rated PMP course on the platform, updated for the 2026 exam — bundles roughly 25 hours of video with 10 hours of practice-exam walkthroughs, 500 Agile and PMP practice questions, and the 35 contact hours. Udemy pricing is dynamic, so expect frequent steep discounts rather than a fixed number.

The tradeoff is infrastructure. There is no simulator platform, no per-domain analytics, no managed study plan, and no guarantee beyond Udemy’s standard 30-day refund — so most candidates pair McLachlan with Study Hall or another bank for timed, tracked practice. The YouTube-first format can also feel unstructured if you want a week-by-week schedule handed to you. As a near-free foundation and final review layered under any question bank on this list, though, nothing else matches the value.

Pocket Prep’s PMP bank is the largest advertised in this roundup — 2,450 questions, split 731 People, 1,074 Process, and 645 Business Environment — inside the most polished mobile study app in the market, rated around 4.7 on the App Store. Eight quiz modes make five-minute study windows productive, an 80-question free trial lets you sample it, and the pricing is the gentlest here: $20.99 monthly, $49.99 per three months, or $124.99 per year, with three additional free months of Premium if you fail.

It cannot be your whole plan. There is no video teaching, no contact hours, and no simulation of the new 180-question, 240-minute format with its case-study sets. Reviewers repeatedly flag rationales that run thinner than PrepCast’s or PrepSolution’s, some outdated ITTO-era emphasis against the current exam, and recurring crash, sync, and support complaints. The consistent verdict across roughly 7,000 analyzed app reviews: useful for gap-finding as a secondary resource, and “shouldn’t be the only study resource.”
