Starting with the 2024 update, HRCI restructured the SPHR exam from 6 functional areas to 5. Leadership and Strategy is now 33% of the entire exam, up from roughly 20%. Employee and Labor Relations no longer exists as a standalone domain (its content was split across Talent Management and Leadership and Strategy). Risk Management was absorbed into a new HR Information Management, Safety, and Security area.
