Human-in-the-Loop Flow
how to read this
- › AI is never the final step. It sits between input and the human decision.
- › The PM's job is to validate — check for hallucinations, missing context, historical bias in training data.
- › Always disclose AI usage in estimates, forecasts, and status reports. Hidden AI = ethics violation.
- › Real outcomes feed back into the model. Garbage out → bad training data → worse future outputs.
Where AI Helps · Where It Fails
✓ AI helps
- › Pattern matching on 100s of past estimates
- › Risk scoring based on register similarities
- › Automated status dashboards
- › Draft communications and summaries
✗ AI fails
- › Stakeholder empathy and conflict mediation
- › Novel situations with no precedent
- › Ethical judgment calls
- › Cultural and context-sensitive decisions
Exam Traps
Always disclose AI use
If AI was used to estimate, forecast, or draft reports, the PM discloses it. Hiding AI use is a transparency and ethics violation.
AI does not replace human judgment on stakeholder engagement
People work requires empathy, context, and cultural awareness. AI augments but does not replace the PM on stakeholder questions.
Validate AI outputs
If an AI-generated estimate seems unrealistic, validate with expert judgment and historical data. Accepting AI output blindly is a trap.
Algorithmic bias is a real risk
AI trained on biased data produces biased outputs. PMs must assess bias in AI-driven decisions, especially for hiring, evaluation, or resource allocation.
Transparent AI use
Disclose, validate, review. AI is a tool, not a decision-maker.
No blind trust
AI output is a draft, not an answer. Validate against expert judgment every time.
An AI tool is like a smart intern. Great at pattern matching, poor at context. You do not skip sanity-checking the intern work.
If the intern drafted your status report, you say so. Hiding the source is dishonest.
The intern can draft, estimate, and predict. You decide. The PM owns the decision.
If the intern learned from unfair historical data, the draft inherits the unfairness. Review before you act.
